This week is one my favorite St. John’s traditions—the Valentines Day One-Room Schoolhouse! See the photo above for last year’s project.
Valentine’s Day is more than a hallmark holiday because it’s all about love. And it’s right in line with Jesus’ teachings about loving our neighbors (and that doesn’t mean just your neighbors in close proximity). The kids will be making valentines and spreading love by sharing a few in church. If you’re lucky, you just might get one! We should all be remembering this day of love and spreading it around as much as possible—the world needs it now more than ever.
Giving opportunity!
Do you have extra stuffed animals? Perhaps your child would like to donate to a child in need. A stuffed animal drive is being organized by the First Parish of Norwell for children at a Rockland shelter. Please bring your gently used and washed stuffed animals to church on Sunday and I will deliver them to First Parish of Norwell. Bring a smile to a child!
For those of you travelling over the break, we will miss you and hope that you have a wonderful week!
Warm regards,
Alexis
