Worship at St. John’s

Please join us for in-person Sunday morning worship services at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The 10 a.m. service is also live-streamed via Facebook Live and our website below, with rebroadcasts on the Hingham cable station during the following week. Regular Sunday Services

8 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I (Elizabethan English)

10 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II (contemporary English) with Choir

S.W.5 is the Sunday Worship at 5 p.m. Eucharist, Rite II, is celebrated in the Parish Hall and is a bit more informal, with a mix of more contemporary music and familiar hymns. (S.W.5 will take a hiatus in Fall 2024.)

Following the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services, all parishioners and visitors are welcome to join us at Coffee Hour for lively conversation, light food, and excellent coffee (plus tea, and treats and lemonade for the kids).

Daily Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer is held Monday through Friday at 8:45 a.m. via Zoom. Click here to read more about Daily Morning Prayer. (This service is currently online.)

Wednesday Service

The Eucharist is celebrated every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel. The last Wednesday of every month is a Healing Eucharist Rite II. Optional Wednesday Community follows this service from 10:45 a.m.–noon in the Thayer Room. Read more about Wednesday Community.

Special and Seasonal Services

From the dramatic liturgies of Palm Sunday and Holy Week to the joyful services at Easter and Christmas, we offer a wide variety of special liturgies throughout the year. This includes Advent Lessons & Carols, Choral Evensong, the annual Blessing of the Animals, Ash Wednesday, Thanksgiving Day, and “Mass on the Grass.” Please check the website for upcoming special services.
