Dear St. John’s parents,
This week is Palm Sunday and our routine is a little different. Children should gather at the start of church with their parents outside in front of the church (weather permitting) or in Upper Weld in the event of inclement weather. We will process into church together as a congregation following the Liturgy of the Palms. Children will continue directly to Sunday School as a group after processing in. Not to worry, the teachers and I will make sure everyone gets where they need to go!
We will have a special guest in Sunday School, the Rev. Kristina Andreasson from St. John’s Wood Parish in London. She will be leading a class on Palm Sunday for all of our Sunday School children in Lower Weld.
As we prepare to begin the most important week of the church year, I invite you to spend some time at home talking to your children about our faith and the stories of Holy Week. Ask them what they’re learning in Sunday School!
Prayer for Palm Sunday
Today we shout “Hosanna!”
It means “Save us!”
Sometimes we need your help, God
We turn to you when we need guidance or wisdom.
Help us when we don’t know which way to go
Guide us throughout this Holy Week as we learn and grow in faith.
Amen
Looking Ahead
Attention parents of 3rd graders! Our annual Bible presentation will take place during church following Sunday School on May 4. Please plan to attend with your child so they may receive their personalized Bible. We have found that this age group really enjoys having the Bible that they use during class at home and it’s a great way to support faith at home.
