Creation Care in action

We’re in full swing of realizing our vision supported by a diocesan grant:

Enhancing our Outdoor Worship Space

  • Goal: Increasing accessibility to our outdoor worship space at the labyrinth by adding a stone stairway with railing, enhancing the entryway with a cedar trellis and planters and removing dead trees

  • Need: If you’d like to “sponsor a bench” around the labyrinth, we are looking for donations of $250 and we’ll hand carve your family name on the bench for an enduring gift. Contact Jennifer Seggev to sponsor your bench.

Greening our waste management

  • Goal: Implement sustainable practices to minimize our impact on the planet by installing enhanced trash/recycling receptacles throughout the parish and supporting professional composting services.

  • Next step: We’re working on a no-plastic policy for the parish with the aim of transitioning to eco-friendly alternatives.

Upcoming activities

  • Earth Day—April 22: Look for clean up activities near you

  • Parish Clean up—May 18 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Dress down for church and come together as a community to make our church grounds more welcoming

  • Rogation Sunday—May 25: Enjoy outdoor worship in our newly renovated labyrinth

Last month, our High School Youth Group helped build the cedar trellis that will enhance the labyrinth entryway and after Easter the Middle School Youth Group will prepare the cedar planters.
