St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 419 Shawmut Avenue, Boston

The St. Stephen’s Mission has been a vital link in this multi-cultural section of Boston.  Bilingual services are held every Sunday in their sanctuary on Shawmut Avenue.  As a member of St. Stephen’s Partner Churches, the parishioners of St. John’s participate in their Summer Program by providing lunches for the children and staff during one week in July and organizing a lunch and outing in Hingham on Friday for approximately 100 students and counselors.  We provide gifts at Christmas.  St. Stephen’s runs an after-school program Monday through Thursday.  There are opportunities for tutoring, assisting with reading, and helping students with their homework.
